On the last sabbath of March, folks from various places have been making their trek to Timber Ridge Camp in Spencer, Indiana. They come in anticipation of a bountiful pitch-in dinner, catching up with old friends, meeting new ones, and enjoying the camaraderie of sharing music.

The Spencer Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted its seventh annual music festival at Timber Ridge Camp, just south of Spencer, during the last weekend in March. The music began Friday evening, March 27, 2004, with songs presented by Pastor David Fish and his son-in-law Oliver Nelson III, and a local Blue Grass Group formed by member Steve Pickett and several of his co-workers. The group included Jeremy Sublet, main vocals and guitar, Terry Johnson, some lead vocals and guitar, Les Sherwood on mandolin, Alan Lewis on banjo, and Steve Pickett on bass.

Sabbath morning services were held at the church with Indiana Conference President Elder Gary Thurber as guest speaker. A pitch-in dinner followed at Timber Ridge Camp, and the music resumed about 3 p.m. Led by Lynn Miller and his granddaughter Heather Huffman, and accompanied by Lylyn Slough on the keyboard, the gathering group opened their songbooks and joined in singing, "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus," and "Heaven Came Down and Glory filled my Soul." A somewhat informal musical program followed, with a mix of scheduled and impromptu performances by both local church members and visitors from around the state. Among local talent were Sonya Fickett and Lylyn Slough who performed a duet on dulcimers, Daniel Fickett singing "Jesus Loves Me," Jimmy Ranard playing harmonica with Ron Slough on clarinet, Mark Iacobazzi on keyboards. Greg Huffman performed a song he had written entitled, "His Hands," accompanying himself on the keyboard. Visiting performers included Taylor Huffman on clarinet, Ethan Huffman on guitar, Stacy and Randy Huffman, Ramona Wistoff, Linda Sheaves, a young violinist named Michael, and others.
